Diamond City Next is right on the horizon, as many of you already know. But there is still a lot of questions and we're hoping this blog post will clear those up as well as inform our great community about some changes to the rules. So read below to get any information you want and if at the end your questions are not answered, feel free to ask in general chat or wait for Doc's 2.0 stream/video.
When is 2.0 coming out?
Early Access Schedule:
Day One - June 27th: Staff, Platinum and Gold Rewards
Day Two - June 28th: Platinum, Gold and Silver Rewards
Day Three - June 29th: Rewards Club Members and Community Supporters
Day Four - June 30th: Full Release and 1-Year Anniversary Party
Do I get to keep 1-of-1 cars I got before 2.0?
No. Many cars have been removed and we believe a fresh start is best across the entire board.
If I purchased a license plate or phone number do I keep them?
Yes. A Google Form is going to be released on June 30th for you to reclaim previously purchased items. You will have a two-week window to reclaim 1.0 purchases before you will no longer be able to.
Do I keep my whitelisted job?
Yes. Please go to your supervisor when you fly into 2.0, if they are not on enter: /calladmin Please set [ID] to [JOB] level [#]. If you do not know your level, have it set to 0 and then a boss can handle it from there. Admins will have a high call volume the first few days so please give them time to get to your request.
How do I claim rewards won in the auction or events?
If you won a car voucher, you will be able to claim those rewards after July 1st. We have a list of all the winners, so attempts to lie could result in punishment. For cash rewards, please calladmin in-game with the amount you won and your discord name. For cars, dealerships will get a list of who has a voucher.
Changes to Rules:
Vehicle Death Matching
In the past, VDM of any kind was against the rules. But I feel this does not really represent real-life-style RP. So VDM is being defined a little differently. Hitting someone with your car will now be allowed in the following scenarios: 1. The person is aiming a gun at you in front of your car or has initiated some other kind of violent RP with you. However, this does not mean you run them over until they're dead. You should also use Fear RP in these scenarios and your first and only goal should be to escape. Purposefully killing someone that you don't need to kill with your car, will fall under VDM.
2. A fellow cop is being gunned down as you pull up to the scene. You will now be allowed to hit the suspect in order to stop them from killing a fellow officer. This does not mean you can cream them at 100MPH. It means you can hit them to knock them over giving yourself and other officers time to take back the initiative. This rule does not supersede department SOPs or prevent you from being sued in RP.
Fair Roleplay
Fair Roleplay is being changed away from the current system of ratios, to maximums for an easier to understand roleplay experience. From now on robberies will have a maximum number of criminals allowed, and a maximum number of responding officers. Please look at the below for those numbers: Store/House Robbery: 2 Criminals and 5 Cops
Trap/Truck Robbery: 4 Criminals and 9 Cops
Bank/Heist: 8 Criminals and All Cops
A getaway driver is allowed IN ADDITION to the criminal numbers above. However, the getaway driver is only the driver. They CAN NOT shoot or join in the robbery in any way and need to remain in the car until you've either been caught or escaped.
Assassination Rules
Just a small change here, from now on you will no longer announce in /ad or /anon you are trying to kill someone. A staff member will DM the person on the server and they will DM the target to let them know an assassination is out on them. This is to encourage a little more RP with the police. Doing the announcement publicly often led every cop in the city to protect some random person for no real reason. Now, the target needs to convince the people they are in danger.
Green Zone Changes
The only green zones in 2.0 will be the following: Legion Square
Pillbox Hill
Sandy Shores Hospital
Paleto Bay Hospital
This means police stations, government buildings, mechanic shops and other areas are now open to all RP. Keep in mind all normal rules apply, so random targeting MRPD or other PDs without good RP could still result in a ban.
Breaking Character
No change here. Just want to make sure everyone understands very clearly how seriously this will be taken in 2.0. You WILL get banned for breaking character. 0 tolerance. If someone is breaking the rules, /calladmin and continue roleplaying until an admin arrives. You do not respond to someone breaking a rule by also breaking one yourself. Regular members will not get any slack here, especially since they should know most of all how to follow the rules.
