What's Coming With Diamond City 2.0?

Diamond City 2.0 won't be a large map change like seen with DCRP 1.9 released in March 2021. The summer update set to release in Summer 2021 will bring forth major changes to the economy and how players enjoy the server.

Now, part of this will be something that is always unpopular, a server wipe. We think it is important to wipe in order to keep things fresh and interesting. It also will allow us to dramatically reshape the in-game economy to more realistic levels.

The reason the server has such extreme payouts and such high prices is that we haven't changed the economy since we started in June 2020 when we were new to FiveM. At that time we adjusted the prices higher and higher to fix uneven game mechanics. Those have been fixed since then of course, but that doesn't mean we want to keep the economy hyper-inflated.

We are choosing the summer to do our wipe because it is when people will have the freest time to commit to playing and getting back on the grind. For many of our users in high school, university or college this is the time of year where they have the most time to enjoy some games and spend those long hours to get ahead.

There is not a hard-date on a server wipe, and don't take this as a reason to stop playing. We are planning some major RP events to mark the 1-year anniversary of DCRP, including some awesome staff v. member events.

Unlike our last server wipe, we will not be allowing the community to vote on this one. The unfortunate side of democracy is that people vote in their own interests and we know from our last poll that members will not see our reasoning and will instead vote to keep all their stuff and not wipe. But we can't adjust the economy and leave everyone extremely rich. It would destroy the economy and become boring for the rich fast.
